Canadian CharitiesNot all charities accept car or vehicle donations. However, there are many that will accept your used car. The following list is an example of Canadian charities and what they do with the donations. The following is just a few example of what the charities do with your donations.
Canadian Hearing Society: The CHS provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of the deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing people. They will pick up your old vehicle and it will be recycled for parts or sold at dealer auctions. The proceeds are sent to CHS and you will receive a tax receipt for no less than $60. Care Canada: This is a non-government, not-for-profit charitable
organization dedicated to helping the poor in developing regions. They
will take a car donation CSPCA: It is their mission to protect animals from neglect, abuse, and exploitation. Anydonated vehicles will be used to provide emergency veterinary transportation within various cities. Kidney Foundation: The Kidney Car Program is a fundraising initiative in which oldvehicles are towed free of charge and recycled. The donor will receive a tax receipt. The program operates in British Columbia,Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. The fundsfinance various programs such as research, patient services, and promotion of organ donation. Salvation Army: While they don't run a car donation program themselves, they are donated to the Ballard Foundation to enable them to run feeding programs for street youth. If cars are donated directly, the car is sold and the funds used within the organization. World Vision: They will consider car donations depending upon the condition and age of the vehicle as well as the market for that particular type of vehicle. It will be sold through a reputable source after it is appraised. An income tax receipt will be given for the amount received by World Vision. The funds will be used for such things as clean water, education, and medical care.
